Where it started
Browser tracking was losing a large share of purchases to ad blockers and privacy settings. The ad platforms optimised against incomplete data, so spend drifted toward the wrong audiences.
What we built
- Conversion events sent from the server to each ad platform’s API, deduplicated against the browser events.
- A small edge function that records the click ID on landing, so purchases can be matched later.
- A weekly report comparing platform-reported sales with the store’s own orders.
Result
Reported conversions now match orders within a few percent. With better data, the campaigns returned 31% more per dollar spent over the following quarter.
